ghostdrive: ([improving morale one beating at a time])
As you can probably infer from the subject line, this post is about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse at an IHOP. Before anyone thinks I've gone crazy, here's what I'm talking about:

Last fall, in one of my classes (the one that caused me to have a minor hysterical fit, if you can remember that post), there was this boy who told us about this short story he wanted to write using the before mentioned concept. The Four Horsemen, having tired of doing whatever it was they were doing in this particular story, decided that they had the munchies and IHOP seemed like the place to go. The rest of the story pretty much revolved around them having some random conversation while fellow diners attempting to ignore that they were, in fact, dining in the presence of Death (plus his comrades).

What I particularly liked about his story is that each of the Horsemen had personality traits/characteristics related to what they represented. For instance, Famine ate and ate and ate without getting full; Pestilence was a super stinky individual that no one wanted to sit near (thus all tables around them were unoccupied); and Death was constantly at risk of killing people (accidentally, of course, since he was off the clock) through his touch. As for War... I don't really remember correctly, but I think he spoke very loudly due to him being partially deaf.

I'm unsure if he ever actually wrote the story (I think he was more interested in taking part in Del Mar's poetry slams), but seriously it would have been the most AWESOME THING EVER.
ghostdrive: ([mada mada dane] Echizen Ryoma)
cinepuriryoma Let it be known that the actor (his name escapes me!) playing Echizen Ryoma in the Prince of Tennis live action movie (aka Cinepuri) is super adorable~! See?!!

Gah! Adorable! Know what else? He's like 12 years old so saying he's cute MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A DIRTY PERSON. If Gina were online she'd totally be making fun of me right now. XDDD

Oh Tenipuri, the things you do to me.

I'M SPAMMING MY JOURNAL TODAY IT SEEMS. I blame my crazy mood on the rain (damned flash flood warnings!) and because my period is just around the corner.

1. Homemade Thin Mint cookies recipe -- I wonder if these even come close to how good the Girl Scout ones are. (In a previous post, I commented to [livejournal.com profile] michachan that the Girl Scouts must have made a deal with the Devil since their Thin Mint cookies were so delicious. I can never buy just one box; I have to buy two or three at a time. Seriously, I normally hate anything to do with mint and I LOVE those damn cookies. ~The work of Satan~)

2. These KH2 icons by chirachira are awesomely funny. GO CHECK THEM OUT. ♥ I particularly like the Xaldin, Axel, and Roxas ones. ♥

3. I know of at least a few of you who are/were into comic books. I kind of stepped away from all things comic book related around 5-7 years ago when I was majorly getting into anime/manga. Lately I've been wanted to get back into my old love so I'm asking, what series/trade paperbacks are worth checking out? They can be old or current series; from Marvel, DC, whatever. I'm just looking to see what's interesting out there. There have been a few titles out there that have caught my eye though: Exiles, New X-Men (which I think went back to Uncanny X-Men now?), House of M. Any good?
