ghostdriveMy love for Stan Lee and his eternally amusing catchphrase, "Excelsior!", compels me to be a dork and buy the EXCELSIOR! wristband from the ACTOR Comic Fund. I have a feeling that wearing this sort of strangely uplifting proclamation on my wrist could brighten the mood of any bad day. XD ♥ ♥ ♥

My freshman year of high school, I did an English presentation about Stan Lee (and Marvel comics). The project, I think, was on someone we admired. I was MAJOR into comic books at the time (I still am, but to a somewhat lesser extent), so I had to choose him. (Yeah, I tended to pick rather offbeat subjects for school projects. For another English project, Princess Mononoke was the subject. And for a science fair project, my experiment was with video games. Fun times, fun times.)
While researching Stan Lee, an incredibly obnoxious classmate of mine came up to me (while I was holding a library book on the history of Marvel) and said, "Kathy, when are you going to stop reading comic books and actually work on your project," with such a sneer on his face. Yeah, fuck you man. In the end, my grade was better than his. Take that D.G.! (<---Some of you who went to school with me may know who those initials belong to. ^_^) MWAHAHAHA! Vindictive is me.
Now I return to waiting for Rin! to finish downloading.
Slightly on the subject of Stan Lee, but when he dressed up as Revolver Ocelot at the G-4 G-Phoria (a video game award show) a couple of years back, I was so fangirling like crazy (also, Carmen Electra dressed as Sniper Wolf, and Dave Navarro as Vulcan Raven was cool too, but nothing beats seeing such a legend dressed up as one of my favorite game characters). The fact that he was presenting an award to Hideo Kojima (another legend in my opinion) just made my day.
Oh yeah, and Vampire Hunter D has once AGAIN stolen my soul. VHD has had me in its grips for about 10+ years. D can not be resisted. XP
