Yesterday I spent part of the day with my lovely cousin Gina, [livejournal.com profile] grod8404, who took me to the mall to buy me a birthday gift. First stop was Waldenbooks where we both took advantage of the sales going on. Bargain books and paperbacks were both "Buy 4, get the 5th free", so I ended up buying 10 manga books with the gift card my mom gave me (and I still have $112 left on it ^___^). Gina spotted some witchcraft and vampires books in the bargain books section that she got super excited over. And damn were those books thick. I swear they were heavy enough to use as substitutes for weights (and yes we all--me, Gina, and two employees-- made those obligatory jokes about beating up boyfriends with them/breaking toes by dropping them/etc. 'cause we're all lame, haha). I had Gina buy me the Angel Sanctuary Artbook since I adore Kaori Yuki. ♥

Then we went to Hot Topic where Gina totally started hyperventilating over a The Nightmare Before Christmas metal lunch box. I'm serious. She was talking to me while I was looking at their anime shirts and she just started gasping and talking incoherently. "Jack...Nightmare...lunchbox...there..!"

They had the Vincent Valentine Advent Children action figure there but I didn't buy it since $25 seemed too expensive. Anyone know how much Texas Toyz is selling Advent Children figures for?

Came back to my house and watched ANTM (Grr...Bre you suck!). Afterward, Gina decided to go home, and this is where her Mexican ingenuity kicked in.

You see, there are these bookcases (one 7 feet tall, the other 3 feet tall) in my garage that my mom's been trying to get rid of for months. Gina spots them, likes them, and my mom says she can have them for free. The problem? Gina wants to take them home with here and her vehicle of choice to transport them in is her 1997 Buick LeSabre. Yeah, hard to imagine carrying two bookcases in that thing, huh?

We spent the next 35 minutes trying to pack two bookcases into her little car (well, more accurately, she was doing the packing. I spent most of the time laughing.) I don't know how she did it, but she managed to shove most of the seven-foot shelf into her trunk (after failing to fit it inside the car) and tie it down with a rope using so many knots. The other shelf ended up in her backseat. We were laughing so hard 'cause its such a Mexican thing to do; to pack things in such odd ways. XP

Blah, this post turned out long and rambling.

Advent Children figures are around $20-25. I wouldn't say $25 is a bad deal, but you can get it for a few bucks cheaper. I don't know CC so I'll let Kathy explain where Texas Toyz is.

Yeah, the Vincent figure was totally hidden on the lowest part of the wall where all the other figures are. I almost didn't spot him, but of course I have special Vincent radar. XDDD They also had the Tifa one too.

Texas Toyz (http://www.texastoyz.com/) is a shop that specializes in selling action figures/statues/comics/etc. Its paradise for an action figure dork like me. ^_^

Their website says the Advent Children Vincent and Tifa figures are $15! But that's the special website sale so I wonder if they are the same price at the store? *must make a trip to Texas Toyz* Even if they're $25 there too I think I'm still gonna try and buy all of them.

Oh! I forgot to tell you where its located.

Its at the South Park Center next to a KINKOS at the corner of SPID and Weber. Eh, I suck with giving directions so HERE'S (http://www.texastoyz.com/information.php?info_id=4) a map of their location from the website. ^_^

Perhaps its my mom's cheapness rubbing off on me, but if I can save $5 I'm all for it. ^_^ Personally I think Hot Topic jacks up their prices sometimes. ^^;
