Project Runway Finale♥
Mar. 8th, 2006 09:52 pmNo one on my f-list watches Project Runway (besides
michachan that is, but she's only seen a few episodes), so I won't bother putting the results behind a cut. Mwahahahaha!
She won! Chloe Dao won!See! I actually guessed the winner correctly this time. XD I'm so, so happy. ♥ She was my absolute favorite from the beginning so I am so excited that she won. Also, her model, the very lovely Grace, won a spread in Elle magazine. Yay Grace! I ♥ the both of you.
Summaries of their shows:
Daniel V. -- He was the first one to show his collection. His pieces were Asian and military inspired (though I didn't really see the Asian influence in them). He was the most diverse of the 3 designers; his collection included dresses, pants, tops, purses (which Tim Gunn hated), and coats. I liked most of his line (since I'm a lover of military-esque designs), but some of his pieces seemed a bit too simple to me. His model, Rebekah, closed the show with this fantastic brown evening dress. ...She also stumbled slightly as she was walking down the runway after her feet got tangled with her long hem. Phew, at least she didn't fall. Daniel has tremendous potential is becoming a top designer. I wish him the best of luck in the future. ♥
Chloe -- The second designer to show her collection. She wanted her collection to be the fantasy evening wear line of her dreams. The designs were all dresses, but they were soooo well made. ♥ Chloe is very professional in what she does, and it was obvious in her collection. She knows how to create designs that look good on women. The lines of her dresses follow curves and create an interesting silhouette. To me Chloe has been the most impeccable in her designs. Her model, Grace, closed the show with an amazing Sapphire blue gown. It had a very cool pattern cut out in the back that I LOVED. Again, I'm so, so happy for her win. Oh, and her boyfriend. Totally hot. =D
Santino -- The third one to show his collection. Inspiration for his designs was the 1940s/old Hollywood/boudoir setting. Separately, his pieces were quite nice, but they just didn't blend well together as a collection. He also had a bit of trouble with the fitting of some of his outfits (Heidi Klum commented that "the models boobs were not where they were supposed to be"). There was another model stumbling moment here; Heather nearly stumbled off the runway at the end of his show. Luckily, Santino caught a hold of her arm before anything happened. As Michael Kors stated, his collection was a bit underwhelming. It was actually kind of disappointing. He spends the whole show making these totally out there outfits (half of which were amazing), and then he gets to Fashion Week and completely tones it down. I think if he manages to balance his inner-Santino, he also has a great future ahead of him.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Cycle 6 of America's Next Top Model started today. Will talk about it tomorrow.
She won! Chloe Dao won!
