The other day while cleaning through my closet finding stuff to put in my mom's garage sale, I found something I totally forgot I had: a 2-sided Kingdom Hearts poster that I got the day the game came out several years ago (it came free with the game at Circuit City). It was still in almost perfect shape, so I bought a frame for it so I wouldn't have to put thumbtack holes through it (<---I am so dorky with videogame related objects). YAY! I ♥ Kingdom Hearts and Tetsuya Nomura.

In the past two days, I've read Imadoki! vol. 3-5, Tokyo Babylon vol. 6, Angel Sanctuary vol. 6 (the Mad Hatter is such a cool character now that I see "him" in action. I hope the archangel Micheal makes his appearance in the next volume), Ranma 1/2 vol. 15-16, Tramps Like Us vol. 4, and Saiyuki vol. 7. There are just some days that I want to do nothing but read.

Speaking of "Tramps Like Us", I'm really curious why Tokyopop chose that god-awful title instead of keeping the original Japanese title, "Kimi Wa Petto". Why not just use the english equivalent of "Me and my Pet"? (<---is that the correct way of translating it? "My Pet and I"? I don't remember right now.) I'll admit that I've gotten quite attached to the main characters, Sumire and Momo. Part of wants them to get together 'cause they are so perfect for each other. Sumire is able to be herself in front of Momo instead the constantly cool persona she puts in front of her coworkers, and even her own boyfriend. (Poor Hasumi-senpai. He may be in love with Sumire, but she gets so insecure when it comes to him. He's a good guy, so it'll be a little sad if she ever tells him that Momo is her pet.) And chapter 18, "Remembering Your Own Value", seriously had me tearing up. The realization that she could be easily replaced in her journalism job, that perhaps she really is viewed as just having "brains", and the fact that underneath her cool facade she isn't as confident as she appears to be, really struck a cord in me. At least she understands that she is not alone, she does have someone she can show everything to: Momo. ....I'm such a sap sometimes.

Omanga recently fixed their download links so now I can get MPD Psycho!! I'm happy. Now I can really scare Gina by babbling about this series and also D.Gray-man, another series which was recommended in the [livejournal.com profile] death_note community. My poor, poor laptop, all your space is going to be used to hold scanlation downloads.

Mullets are perhaps the worst haircut ever. And yet, I can not help but be amazed when I spot someone with this hairstyle. Example: When I went to the mall to buy manga books at Waldenbooks, I passed by a woman with the most incredible mullet I've seen (and by incredible I do not mean great). It was puffy and curly in the front, and absolutely long and straight in the book. I actually turned around to take a second look as I passed her. Ah, it was the dreaded "Fem-Mullet" (also referred to as the "Power Dyke"....Oh man, that cracks me up). I think I'm more perplexed to see women with mullets than men. It just seems they would have more sense in the matter of hair.

"Ape Drape", "Hockey Hair", "The Business in the Front, Party in the Back", there is nothing greater than hearing mullet nicknames. I think the only haircut that is as bad as the mullet is the rat-tail. Rat-tails bother the hell out of me. Is there really a need to have a small patch of long hair while the rest is of a normal length? It is just baffling. Of course, as much as I enjoy making fun of mullets and rat-tails, it is their choice to wear that type of hairstyle. And to that I salute your bravery (or perhaps its shear lack of embarrassment).

...What a strange post this has turned out to be.

I think I'll try out this temporary electric blue hair dye I have tomorrow. It's raining now, so I'll end this post here. Have you feared for my sanity yet?
