Oh how I cringe.

Most of you know that I don't care for MySpace--basically I have no interest in it and also because I'm a big livejournal elitist. Normally I wouldn't give it another thought, but in the past week I've been asked by 4 people either a.) to get a MySpace or b.) why in the hell I don't have one already (complete with looks of incredulity), so here I am setting up a poll about it. WHY DO MOST OF MY FRIENDS HAVE MYSPACE AND NOT LJ. ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHH. As you can tell, even considering setting up one is making me cringe.

If you voted yes, please let me know what it is you like about MySpace. Who knows, maybe my ARGH-MYSPACE-NO reflex is completely clouding my judgment about it. Maybe.

EDIT....(Fuck, this comment is coming four days too late [its the 12th now].) You know, I probably should have mentioned why I felt the need to post this poll (reading over this post I sound like I'm resigning myself to getting a MySpace -_-;). For some reason, whenever someone says I should get a MySpace, I somehow feel like they are subtlely suggesting that want to keep in touch with me and then I feel like I'm obligated to keep up with them. Argh, I probably not making sense again.

Obviously I'm way out of the internet loop if I even have to ask this, but what the hell is up with comments of just the word 'boobies' in threads (I've noticed this quite a bit in the Penny Arcade and VG Cats lj feeds). I mean, WTF. Somebody explain. Please. I feel so lame now. EDIT. Many thanks to memlu for explaining this.

If the "boobies" thing is what I think it is, it's coding that turns the word "first" or the phrase "first comment" into the word "boobies." I'm sure you've never noticed people yelling "first (comment)!" in reply to an lj feed / post at a popular journal or community before. *g*

I'm inclined to agree with you, but holy crap some of my friends are quite persistent on the whole Myspace thing. Me + LJ = true love. WHY CAN'T THEY SEE.

I like MySpace, just because everyone else is on it. I prefer LiveJournal for blogging, I usually just cross-post into my MySpace blog. I like pictures and the ability to comment on them, though... and page comments are nice to. So it's like 3x the comments. It does get annoying every so often, getting creeps that want to add you out of the blue, and the constant logging in errors and crap, but I like MySpace.

Basically MySpace is fun because you can make random comments to all your friends about....NOTHING. Or you can keep up with old friends. Or you can find old friends. I rediscovered one of my friends who moved in first grade and never heard from her again until she sent me a message and was like..WHOA! It was the coolest thing.

I've NEVER blogged on MySpace. LJ is so much better for that.

MySpace is just...fun. I voted 'Who.Cares.' because if you get one YAY! I'll add you but if you don't that's cool too. :)


Oh I have no idea about the "boobies" thing either. Didn't know it even existed though XD

Yep. I think I'm gonna bust out my Kairi outfit for it. XD Won't do the hair thing though. Too lazy. Yeah it's just an easy outfit. Aeris's hair was ridiculous to put in. Shoes hurt too...

I'm still unsure if I'm going to get a MySpace or not. Part of me doesn't care for it and another part wants to keep track of friends who are on there. CAN'T DECIDE.

Haha, I probably wouldn't have posted about the "boobies" thing if it weren't so annoying to see on threads. I mean, when a portion of the comments in a post are just that word, it drives me crazy (same thing when people comment with "first" or "first commenter!" too). It just seems so useless and unfunny to me.

Reasons Myspace is cool:

01. Val and I met on Myspace and we have been together for over a year and a half!

02. You can customize your page and put way more stuff on it than LJ lets you do.

03. You can find old friends you haven't heard from in years.

04. Myspace tells you with an easy to use system when you have new messages or your friends have made new blogs.

05. You can put tons of pictures, songs, and videos on your Myspace.

It was so cool!!! Because I'd always wondered about her and if she still even remember me and I thought she probably didn't but then she found me! She only lives like 2 hours away. She comes down for 4th of July we saw each other last year and this year. It was cool.

Yeah basically I just keep track of friends on there and leave random comments when I'm bored XD



It is REALLY lame.
