If you read my lj, you've probably seen this poll already. Sorry!

Since I'm basically still brain dead due to finals which were over last week, I've had a lot of time to sit around and think, pretty much about nothing important. And falling under the 'not really important' category are video games and what boring polls I can make about them. Seriously guys, I'm just taking it easy right now, and taking it easy for me equals not breaking my brain (anymore than it already is broken) and playing three games at once. Not that anyone really cares, but those games are Touch Detective 2 1/2 (DS), Final Fantasy IV (DS), and finishing up Persona 4 (PS2).

Anyway, how about a random poll?

When it comes to boss battles in RPGs with experience/level-based systems, I prefer...

to be at a level lower than the boss. There's gotta be a challenge.

to be on the same level as the boss. Thus the battle is neither a hassle nor a cakewalk.

to go into battle over-leveled. Wham, Bam, the battle is done.

Can't really answer since I don't play many RPGs/Don't play RPGs at all.

Me, I tend to err on the side of caution and usually face bosses over-leveled since my patience for repeating boss battles is, uh, lacking (especially when you can't skip the in-game text, AUGH). When it comes to whatever game I'm playing at the time, I'll usually look up info from FAQs on the boss ahead of time and try to be a few levels over their own. Sometimes more. It takes the challenge out of most battles, but I'd rather have to do a major battle once than to repeat it over and over again.

Level grinding can get tedious in its repetitiveness, but somehow I deal with it better than repeating boss battles. (Its weird, I know.)

Next possible poll: Going the good or evil route in morality-based games. Seriously, I am strangely interested in how you guys play your games. 'Cause I'm a weirdo.

× Awesome Silent Hill fanart involving characters from all the SH games. I find Travis carrying all those TVs around particularly hilarious (since you can hold a crapload of stuff in your inventory). Also, James and his wife-smothering pillow.

× ArisatoMinato@twitter is an lj user's Persona 3 twitter experiment. With this year currently coinciding with the P3 game calendar, this person is replaying the game day by day and having the main character keep up a twitter account about his everyday life. I find it rather neat.

× Packaging of the World is a design blog that showcases just what its title suggests: interesting packaging work from around the world.

× Kotaku asks what games have aged the best. Off the top of my head, my top three would probably be Super Mario Bros 3, A Link to the Past, and Metal Gear Solid. I've recently started my millionth play through of SMB3, so I thought this Kotaku post was interesting. I could also name so many others that have aged well (like Lunar: Silver Star and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and and!), but I'll spare you all my ramblings. How about you?

[Poll #1372688]

Yeah, the vending machine in the campus library must hate me. Today is the second time in a month my bag of chips has gotten stuck in the machine. The first time, I just left my Funyuns there since 1) its a hassle to go to the main office just for an 85 cent refund, and 2) I was just so damn tired. My brother shook the machine for me today, even though I told him he didn't have to. Shaking a vending machine makes me kinda nervous, probably because its been hammered into my head since childhood that you don't shake vending machines or they might fall on you. Oh well, at least he moved it side to side rather than front to back.

Also, the shaking makes a helluva lot of noise. I'm glad the first floor of the library more of a gathering area than a study area.

...There's no real point to this post except to say, VENDING MACHINES LIKE EATING MY MONEY.

Personally, I don't mind reading my lj friends daily tweets, but I know some find them irritating. That being said, I, uh, finally broke down and got one myself (hence, this poll). It is addicting.
