Someone over at okamigame posted these clay figurines (some are from Okami and some are based on Japanese mythical creatures) that they've made with a friend and OMG they're so awesome! Even if you've never played Okami, these are definitely worth checking out. ♥

I'm in ceramics and I totally wanna make the snake!

I'm confused though since I've never played the game, do they really show the zodiac creatures in Okami? Or did they sort of come up with them?

The zodiac creatures are in the game. :3 The main character you play, Amaterasu (the wolf in my icon), represents the dog in the zodiac and is the sun goddess, and the zodiac creatures are the Celestial Brush gods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okami#Celestial_Brush_Gods) that grant you various powers (ex. Kabegami, which is represented by the cat, gives you the catwalk technique).

I really want to play this game! I can never find enough free time to rent it though. Bleh. It'll probably be summer by the time I play it.

OK, well, on the snake is that the only red on it? Does it just have one black eye and then a red circle?

The snake is actually much more detailed (http://pics.livejournal.com/ghostdrive/pic/0003rha6/). (I would show you more pics of the snake, but that's the only I have!) I think they were going for a more simplified version when they made the clay figures.

I figured it was more deatiled and I tried googling it but I didn't know it's name was Nuregami, that would of helped. XD

Hmmmmmm.....I think I'm going to make some of the zodiac in ceramics today! Well.....actually I'm failing that class 'cause I refuse to make any bowls so maybe I should do that first....but I really hate using the wheel, I don't wanna! We should just be allowed to make what we want; I mean I'm being productive aren't I?

Now I'm rambling. Well anyhow eventually I'm gonna make these and fill a basket with them. Oh it'll be cute! :3 I'll send you a picture.

I've noticed its pretty hard to find decent Okami screenshots/images/etc. of whatever you're looking for. Like, before, I was trying to find images of the character Queen Himiko and had no luck at all. I can't wait for the Official artbook to be released here in July though!

Haha, I know the feeling of being somewhat productive in an art class. When I was in painting I was constantly skirting the rules for each project she had since I didn't want to be bored in there. XD
