Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2007

YES, I'M SO ENTERTAINED BY THIS CONTEST THAT I HAD TO MAKE A POST ABOUT IT. Don't you judge me. Apparently, I have nothing better to do for the Fourth of July.

Commentator: If you google "American hero" tomorrow, you'll get Abraham Lincoln, possibly Neil Armstrong and [some name I can't remember], and somewhere else on the first page of results will be Joey Chestnut.

I know that the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest commentator guys are excited that Joey Chestnut won this year, but an American hero? XDDD

Anyway, I was amazed by the amount of hot dogs Chestnut ate this year; he set a new world record of eating 66 of them in 12 minutes. 66. Just hearing that number makes me ill. Me, I was rooting for Takeru Kobayashi, the six-time champ, this year, and it was disappointing that he had to have a few of his hot dogs deducted from his total. He, er, to put it in mild terms, a bit of "spray back" (you probably know what I'm talking about). And of course they had to show that moment repeatedly during the remainder of the event. Poor Kobayashi. I have a feeling that clip is going to be shown whenever this comes up in the news or whatever.

Still, he set a personal best of 63 in total, and this year's event was one of the closest in years. Congrats to the both of them.

RANDOM: Chestnut's eating technique cracks me up. He constantly moves around like he has to pee or something, the expression on his face is one of pure torture, and there's always this vein that pops out from his forehead. It looks like he wants to explode! XD

Also, someone set two backpacks next to my brother's car. I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY BELONG TO. Hobos? Someone visiting who got the wrong house number? It is a mystery.
