Professor Layton and the Curious Village is perhaps the most charming game I have ever played. Its a puzzle game disguised as a murder mystery and everything about it is oh so lovely; from the likeable Professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, to the quaint music (if there's a soundtrack I'm buying it), to the brown-palette European-style aesthetics of St. Mystere and its eccentric inhabitants, this game is incredible. I could babble on forever, but I'll try not to. Check out 1Up's review if you'd like to learn more.

The puzzles had me hooked and I'd find myself losing track of time as I solved puzzle after puzzle, staring for upwards of 15 minutes (or more) at the more challenging ones. "Okay, just one more puzzle--WHOA ITS THREE IN THE MORNING." In fact, these past two nights I've gone to bed with puzzles floating around in my head, and I've actually gotten up in the middle of the night just to complete the ones I managed to figure out.

    No. 009: One Poor Pooch

The matches below are arranged in the shape of a dog. This poor little guy was just minding his own business when a car came barreling down the road and ran him over.

Move two matches to change the picture so that it shows the dog after the accident.

All puzzles are a matter of perspective, so don't assume that you'll be looking at the dog from the side by the time you're finished this one.

(My kinda crappy MS Paint copy of the picture. The two matchsticks you move can be turned in any way you want them to.)

You'll probably all get this one 'cause its so damn easy, but I just found the answer so morbidly funny.

Professor Layton is a delightful game, and I recommend it to all you puzzle-lovers out there.

If this is really a countdown for Persona 3: FES I'm going to be screaming in happiness next Tuesday.
