Saturday I went to the Buc Days carnival with my mom and her boyfriend. I would have made this post sooner, but I've been too lazy. XD

Before I start talking about anything else I'd like to note two things: 1.) its been forever since I last went on any carnival rides, and 2.) I'm currently on antibiotics that have a possible side effect of dizziness. So it probably wasn't a wise idea for me to go on any rides involving spinning, twisting, or going upside-down ...although that's exactly what I did. I didn't hurl or anything, but let's just say that after two rides (not including the ferris wheel) I was completely through with carnival rides.

Warning: Blurry photos ahead! Half of these were taken after I'd ridden on the Hi-Roller and the Skyfire and made myself vaguely sick.

This photo was taken where we parked and if you look to the far right you can just make out the lights from the carnival. Yeah, we did alot of walking.

Random anime-style background! It was certainly better than that art style you usually see on low riders.

Taken while riding the ferris wheel, hence the blurriness.

Mom's boyfriend (who I will refer to as P from now on) was the one really excited to go to the carnival. I think one of the only reasons my mom asked me to go was so he'd have someone to go on the rides with him since there was no way in hell she was going to. She's a smart lady.

We wandered around for like an hour, lingering around booths and eating greasy food (though I only managed to swallow down half a cheeseburger). P kept on suggesting going on certain rides, but I kept turning him down. After awhile he seemed pretty disappointed, so I finally gathered my courage and off we went.

As I mentioned in the begining of this post, I haven't been on a carnival ride in years, but for some insane reason (WHHHHHHHHHY) we started with the Hi-Roller. The Hi-Roller is basically hell captured in ride form.

(I have no photos of the Hi-Roller, though I'm sure if I had tried to take a picture of it my camera would have caught fire.)

The operator of the Hi-Roller sounded just like The Flying Dutchman from Spongebob Squarepants, which would have been hilarious if not for the way he cackled maniacally as he fastened our "restraints" into place (more on that in a sec). A boy in the cart behind us worriedly asked how he could lock himself into place and the operator replied with, "You don't! BWAHAHAHA." And those restraints? Besides the covering of the cart it was basically just a bar you held onto as the ride spun and rocked around like crazy. Had I known this ahead of time I never would have gotten on the Hi-Roller. Never again!

Then we went on the Skyfire, a ride shaped like a rocket ship that puts you in an upside down position waaaaay too much. I hate being upside down. :[ It wasn't that horrible, but if I had a choice I would never ride it again. NEVER. P still wanted to go on more rides after this, but quite frankly I'd had enough. I sat down on a bench until we left about 20 minutes later.

Hmm...this rambling post probably makes it sound like I didn't have any fun, but I did. Though I think next time we go to the Buc Days carnival I'll be sticking to prize booths and whatnot. XD

Misspelled signs makes me laugh so much.
Also, does that photo make your brain hurt? XD

I didn't have the guts to check out the sideshow.

A view of the docks as we left.
