Even though I've lived on the Texas coast most of my life I've yet to experience a hurricane firsthand so I feel like I can't imagine what its like either. I mean, I get all anxious and scared every year when one looks like its coming our way (and that's especially the case with this one since its so large; one news channel said it was bigger than our state!), but it must be much, much worse when you know you're in its direct path. I'll be so glad once hurricane season it over. :|
But luckily Ike's course has veered away from where I live so we're safer, although we still have to watch out for possible tropical storm strength winds and flooding. Or we might not feel anything at all since Corpus is located near the edge of the storm. Eh, at least things are looking better than they were a few days ago. [gives semi-relieved thumbs up]
