Out of curiosity I purchased My Chinese Coach and, while I haven't had a chance to do anything more than the first lesson (that covered the tones of Mandarin), a quick peek at the game phrasebook showed me how to say "Is it cooked in/with (meat stock)?", which I suppose will do me good if I eventually go vegetarian. So far it seems really fun and interesting, but let's see how I feel once the game stops giving me words in pinyin and sticks entirely to simplified Chinese. XD I have a feeling I'll love it more since I'm a language sadist.

(Uh, I should probably apologize in advance to any native-speakers on my flist for possible butchering your language in the future. I am but a beginner. D:)

I also picked up My Japanese Coach because, uh, I apparently have nothing better to do with my day than play language tutoring games. But, hey, Ubisoft, as long as you're doing these language games how about My Russian Coach or My Korean Coach or My Italian Coach. Come on, you know you wanna. [weirdly into educational games]

EDIT. Review of My Chinese Coach at Diehard Gamefan that goes into more details than my sleep deprived brain could ever do.
