I used to think, if you bought a blank audio tape, you could write the name of whatever music you wanted on the label and it would automatically appear on that tape.
I howled with laughter at this because when I was five I thought the exact same thing for VHS tapes. I had a reason for believing that though. Once my dad bought a pack of blank VHS tapes and let me play around with them. Well, I wrote some random, fake movie title on those sticker thingies included (and I remember what I wrote; Cat and Dog Party. WTF?! I was five so of course I'd write something cheesy.) and when we put the tape in the VCR, The Wizard of Oz appeared on screen. The tape actually already had The Wizard of Oz on it. Who knows how that happened.
So afterwards, when we'd get more blank VHS tapes, I wondered why there weren't any movies on them. And yes, my mom and dad eventually explained the real purpose of VHS tapes.Which was to make porn.
