Currently lacking in sanity.

I'M SPAMMING MY JOURNAL TODAY IT SEEMS. I blame my crazy mood on the rain (damned flash flood warnings!) and because my period is just around the corner.

1. Homemade Thin Mint cookies recipe -- I wonder if these even come close to how good the Girl Scout ones are. (In a previous post, I commented to [livejournal.com profile] michachan that the Girl Scouts must have made a deal with the Devil since their Thin Mint cookies were so delicious. I can never buy just one box; I have to buy two or three at a time. Seriously, I normally hate anything to do with mint and I LOVE those damn cookies. ~The work of Satan~)

2. These KH2 icons by chirachira are awesomely funny. GO CHECK THEM OUT. ♥ I particularly like the Xaldin, Axel, and Roxas ones. ♥

3. I know of at least a few of you who are/were into comic books. I kind of stepped away from all things comic book related around 5-7 years ago when I was majorly getting into anime/manga. Lately I've been wanted to get back into my old love so I'm asking, what series/trade paperbacks are worth checking out? They can be old or current series; from Marvel, DC, whatever. I'm just looking to see what's interesting out there. There have been a few titles out there that have caught my eye though: Exiles, New X-Men (which I think went back to Uncanny X-Men now?), House of M. Any good?

Vertigo's FABLES.

OMG

I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH

NOT EVEN IF I TRIED

Other recs:

X-Factor (Marvel)

Runaways (Marvel) -- Runaways is an especially good title, though I highly recommend buying the trade paperbacks and individual issues to catch up before leaping into the current storyline. It's biggest benefit, probably, is how isolated it is from the rest of the Marvel universe: you don't need to know what's happening with the Hulk in order to get what's happening with the runaways.

All Star Superman (DC)

Re: Fables

YEEESSSS. I've heard so many good things about this series that I'm definately putting this one on the top of my list. :D

The Onslaught series in Marvel was cool. It spanned mostly over X-Men comics but also spilled into almost everything else Marvel. Tons of Marvel characters gave their life to defeat Onslaught. Unfortunately they brought them all back. Including Onslaught. So only get the original Onslaught comics. Don't worry about the new crap.

Anything and everything Deadpool. There are a couple 4 issue mini series which are serious and kick ass. Then there is a 69 issue series that is silly, weird, and hilarious. Check it out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures from Archie comics kicks major butt too.

All of these are old series but ya shouldn't have any trouble finding them on Ebay, MileHighComics.com, or swap meets or whatever. :)

I love anything regarding the Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos. Earth X is looking pretty good so far. I use to like Spawn a lot, stay clear of #101 on. I've heard good things of Fables, too. Comics are so... I dunno... hard to get into and collect with the millions of different series, and such. Just look at X-Men there is and has been a billion different series.
