Things I've been into lately (besides the usual ES21, Reborn!, DGM, etc.) + random song associations that probably make sense to no one else but me.
Gintama: Action, comedy, and science fiction all set in the historical Japanese era. Aliens! Sword fights! The Shinsengumi! ♥ Gintama is perhaps a tad too crazy at times, but I'm not complaining. It focuses on Gintoki, a fallen samurai with a penchant for sweets and Shonen Jump, his (kinda) apprentice Shinpachi, and an alien girl, Kagura, who forces her way into their freelance business, Odd Jobs Gin. Toss in wacky side-jobs, throw downs with the Shinsengumi (one of which involved playing rock-paper-scissors for a sakura viewing spot), and the sheer strangeness that is Elizabeth and that's basically what Gintama is all about. Sort of. ...Yeah, right about now Dean Venture would be telling me, "I dare you to make less sense."
On a random note, apparently Chikadoh, one of my favorite doujin circles, is going to focus more on Gintama works! This means more Gintoki/Shinpachi doujinshi! YES.
サムライソウル (Samurai Soul) - Ulfulus
I defy you to not start wailing out SAMURAI SOUUUUUUL along with the song. I know I can't.
Lamento: Normally I'd be hesitant about declaring my love for a Japanese BL game involving cat people since, well, its involves cat people, but what the hell. A mysterious phenomenon known as the Void is arising around the world, and Konoe decides to leave his village on a journey to avoid it. As to what the purpose of this journey is really about I can't tell you since...um, I paid more attention to the sex scenes than anything else. Ahahaha. [embarrassed] This site can probably explain everything about Lamento better than I can.

Rai on the left, Konoe to the right. I love Rai's silver hair and eyepatch! ♥

Bardo brushing Konoe's tail. God, this picture is so cute.

Sleepy Konoe~

Forces - Susumu Hirasawa
I also enjoy Nitro+chiral's other BL game Toganui no Chi, but to a slightly lesser extent. Its post-Apocalypticsmut madness!
Moyashimon: Okay, so I've only read two chapters of the manga, but come on, a series about a college student who can see and communicate with bacteria and other micro-organisms? I'M SO IN. Check out the scanlated chapters from Gekkoukan High Scans if you're interested (though I'm sure there are other scanlations available at
moyashimon, but I'm too lazy too look). Oh, and while you there, all you Persona 3 fans might might the give the P3 manga a looksie as well. :3
ココロオドル - nobodyknows+
Sex Pistols: A yaoi manga about guys who turn into animals that's surprisingly awesome. Its full of so much crack, crazy romances, and mpreg that you'll probably start to doubt your own sanity, but its honestly one of the funnest series I've ever read. BLU manga has released four volumes so far under the name "Love Pistols".
This Could Be Love - Alkaline Trio
Black Butler: I should probably refrain from talking about series I know very little about since, like Moyashimon, I've only read two scanlated chapters of Black Butler, and there's always the possibility that my love will crash and burn at some point in the story (like with The Demon Ororon), but I can't help myself! It has hooked me in! And besides, that Sebastian just has way too much charisma for me to ignore. So dreamy~ So mysterious~ What I can tell so far is that Black Butler revolves around a noble family of England, the Phantomhive's, its 12-year old master, Ciel, and the other various inhabitants of the Phantomhive manor. Add in mystery, drama, yadda yadda yadda and there you go. ...And that's pretty much all I know; I need to hit up
kuroshitsuji for translations and whatnot when I have more time (i.e. when I pry the PS2 controller away from my fingers).
Charlotte Mitternacht (The Fabulous Destiny of...) - Devotchka
Possible series to check out in the next few months: Pluto, Amatsuki, Angel Densetsu, Nabari no Ou, 07 Ghost.
EDIT. Blah, the last link doesn't work for some reason, so I replaced it with one I googled around for. Hopefully it works okay.
