This corner has become my language books section. I keep on searching Half-Price Books for interesting finds, so this corner will probably expand soon. ( A few more pics of part of my library. )

When it comes to Korean entertainers I'm not familiar with on music shows, I tend to skip past those videos on Omona's weekly posts. But I kept on seeing comments on how Insooni "killed it", and out of curiosity I watched one of her Uppercut performance and OMG I'M SO GLAD I DID. She is so fierce and amazing and I love her. (I think I rambled on tumblr about wanting to be her version of Pteradactyl? lmao) This song makes me feel so energized! She's proof that you can be over 50 and fucking bad-ass. /stan

Kodo by Yoshida Brothers

If you remember the commercials that aired for the Wii then you'll most definitely remember that catchy song that backed those two Asian guys as they traveled the US in their little car, knocking on people's door to show them the awesomeness of the Wii. Kodo (Inside the Sun Remix) was that song, and the above video is the original version.

Yoshida Brothers is made up of two shamisen-playing brothers, Ryoichiro and Kenichi. Not only do they play the Tsugaru-jamisen genre of the shamisen, their music is also a fusion of traditional (the shamisen of course) and modern sounds (synthesizers, electric guitar, etc). Check out Rising for a good example of this. Honestly, watching them strum their instruments makes me feel such a burst of energy build inside of me. I feel exhilarated and happy and ahhhhh I love them.

They are amazing, give them a listen if you have yet to do so. ♥

Normally I wait until I have a bunch of links collected before putting them together into a rec post, but this video is just far too cute to wait on sharing. So I'm giving it its very own post, haha!
