Trying to wait patiently for my The Last Window: The Secret of Cape West game to come in--FAILING. I'm mostly sure its never getting a US release, despite its predecessor getting very positive reviews, so I ended up ordering the European version. Hurray for the Nintendo DS being region free! I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Kyle Hyde, especially since Hotel Dusk is one of my favorite DS games.

I've been playing a ton of Persona 3: Portable, as the female MC. Its rather nice to be able to choose the gender of the main character. I think I'll ramble on about it for a little bit. Spoilers! Particularly for October full moon. )

× To any Suju fans on my flist/dwcircle: Zhou Mi and Henry support project. Summary of the project from the original post:
It’s based off the idea of 1000 [origami] cranes, excepted modified a bit to be 1000 koalas, and 1000 hamsters. 1000 cranes symbolizes peace and happiness and love, and in some cultures, is supposed to grant a wish. So with Zhou Mi’s throat problems, and SJM’s comeback, the two boys are going to need all the happiness and love they can get.

It seems like a cute project.

× Sculptures of animals crocheted from thick and coarse wool. These are so amazing.

× Recipe: Pumpkin pie in a cupcake

× Useful Collection of Cheat-Sheet Desktop Wallpaper for Web Designers

× Unusual genetic mutations of animals. Making the list are rare colored lobsters, all-black penguins, a double-muscled dog, frogs with extra limbs, and winged cats.

× For the brave: Top 10 Grossest Stories from Jezebel readers. These stories are like a train-wreck--I just couldn't look away.

It's currently turning into air conditioner weather here in Texas, which is a big pain in the ass since our a/c works for shit. My laptop is overheating and the fan is whirring like crazy as I type this. Awesome. :\

Hopefully we can get it replaced before I really start dying from the heat.

× Tokyo Beat Down: The Story of Yakuza is about the series' journey stateside and why its been tough finding an audience for the franchise. I personally love Yakuza so this was an interesting read.

× Loco Roco themed nursery is amazing.

× Ever wonder how Street Fighter characters looked as zombies? Yeah, me neither, but here's how they'd look if they were. So random.

× If you ordered/bought Shin Megami Tense: Strange Journey and are having issues with the soundtrack Atlus is offering to replace it for free. This is just another reason why I love Atlus.

× My current favorite post on Epic Win FTW: Plastic Utensil Dragon. So awesome.

× From [profile] aiyatheydidnt: Pee panorama: Hong Kong's best and worst toilets. I'm, uh, a weirdo who enjoys reading this sort of thing? Man, I don't even know. Anyway, the title cracks me up.

Rambling time!

Okay, if you follow my twitter you've probably heard me rave about Golden Graham Treats in an almost insane manner. Besides the vending machines at the college, I've been unable to find them in stores. I've seen them online but fuck if I'm going to pay $25+ for them. Then we visited Sam's Club yesterday and I spotted them, and I practically leaped into the display of boxes with happiness. There is a box of 24 bars sitting on my shelf right now. My brother calls it my "treasure box".

Speaking of my brother, despite the fact our rooms are right next to each other, I take much pleasure in emailing random things to him throughout the day. Things like this and stuff from cakewrecks or whatever. Anything that I'm sure will get him to come to my room and give me that look that says 'what is this craziness you're sending me?' He's not the type to check his email everyday like I am, so often times he logs in and finds a massive amount of randomness from me.

And lastly, WHY THE HELL DID I SIGN UP FOR AN 8AM CLASS. Whyyyy. At the time I signed up it seemed like a good idea, but then after I paid my tuition I realized I would have to wake up around 6:30AM every Tuesday and Thursday. D: I think perhaps this social anxiety medication I'm on is perhaps doing its job a little too well. I've felt oddly energized lately and...happier, I guess?

Anyway, Links!

× I've been seeing these icons of manga!Jesus with manga!Buddha lately and I've been really curious about them. And then I discovered where they were from: Saint Young Men a manga where Jesus and Buddha are roommates, living in the modern times. ITS SURPRISINGLY AWESOME. And very, very funny. And maybe just a tad sacrilegious, but I'm agnostic so I don't care.

× Sometimes the Phoenix Wright Kink Meme produces fic of such awesomeness that have nothing to do with a kink and Klavier's Moving Castle is one of them. From the title of the fic the prompt was obviously Howl's Moving Castle, with Klavier as Howl and Ema as Sophie. Its still an in-progress fic, but its really cute. ♥ I really enjoy seeing how the other PW characters fit into the story.

× Awesome fanart for Devil Survivor, Devil Summoner, Persona 1, and Legend of Zelda, plus links for more.

× This cupcake bath bomb is so delicious looking! It looks real enough that I think my mom might try to eat it. XD (Found via [personal profile] mklutz)

× Interesting feature from Kotaku on how used games are priced, focusing on the different factors that determine how much a game will cost.

× The most adorable mini-first aid kit.

× Video: From this post on Bitmob I discovered the BBC documentary Tetris: From Russia With Love which chronicles the origins of the game and much more. I had no idea the struggle it was to get the game released here! The documentary can be viewed in 6 parts from this playlist.

× Although EGM is no more, they apparently still get letters from readers in prison. I was totally unaware toothpaste could be used as a substitute for glue.

This has been my week so far:

Sunday:
Oh wait ... I have a research paper to do. WRITE WRI-- goddammit, VH1 reality tv, stop distracting me.

Monday:
[wakes up late] WRITE WRITE WRITE WRITE WRITE. This paper is sucky. Fuck it, I'm going to sleep.

Tuesday:
[continues writing after morning PoliSci class ] Aaaand the paper is done! ...Two hours before class starts. Boy, my motivation for writing is so terrible. But who cares! Relief!

(later on in class)

Prof: Hey, here's your final essay prompt! Its due Thursday!
Me: ...

Wednesday:
[wakes up late] Come on, body! Get up! Uh oh, all that sleep I've lost this semester is catching up with meeeeee. Oh great, my period just started. :\ My body is not cooperating with me today.

Thursday:
I have, oh, an intro to this paper. D: Maybe the professor will let me turn it in late.

(calls professor)

Prof: Didn't you hear on Tuesday? I extended the due date to Monday.
Me: W-what... no I didn't hear. Thanks for letting me know.
Me: (after hanging up phone) Yessssssss.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory today, and, as expected, it blew my hair all about. No biggie, a hair tie took care of that. What I didn't expect was waiting for me at a certain point outside the library. As my brother and I walked towards the corner of the building, we entered into what I would call a Molasses Zone. The air coming forth from two sides of the building combined to create a wind so strong it was as if we were suddenly hit by the slow-mo stick. ...Except we couldn't even move at first. XD

We must have looked like a couple of weaklings, stopped dead in our tracks by the force of the wind. Well, we are on the scrawny side... I seriously had to struggle just to get my legs to move forward. I felt like it might knock me off my feet! ...Which just made me laugh hysterically at myself.

And it was made even more hilarious by the fact that it was only like this in a small area. So everyone else was walking around all normal, except for those unlucky few who also fell into the Molasses Zone like we did.

If only I had had my camera with me. I would have made my brother take a ridiculous picture of me leaning far into the wind.
