May. 27th, 2008 08:32 pm"20 Years of Nintendo Power" is Nintendo Power's year-long look back at their twenty years in publication, or, as they put it, "a celebration of Nintendo Power's classic moments". Each month they focus on a different subject, such as the evolution of their design style through the years (as seen in issue #228), and while the articles tend to be dominated by visuals, they are always interesting to read. This month's issue (#229) spotlights a few of the video game-themed comics/manga that have run in NP in the past.

Anyone interested in seeing the previous installments?
I have more magazine scans to share (from PiQ, a new publication from ADV), but those will have to wait for another day.

This weekend is A-Kon, and I'm still debating whether to take my laptop with me or not. In the past I didn't take it since I didn't want the friends I was with to park themselves in front of it like they had a tendency to do at my house. Why does "hey, I'm gonna just check my email quickly" always turn into several hours of unrelated internet browsing? :| Must resist the urge to rant about why I don't let other people (beside my brother, that is) use my laptop anymore for reasons related to the previous sentence. But this time none of my friends are going. My brother is going, but, like I said, I can trust him with my laptop, so I might end up taking it... mostly because I have way too many lj comms friended and I'm currently tracking all parts of the Phoenix Wright Kink Meme, so the thought of coming home to hundred of posts and 400+ emails in my inbox is making me cringe already. WHY AM I SO ADDICTED TO YOU, LJ.
------
I was also checking the A-kon website for places to eat at besides McDonald's near the Sheraton and apparently the Dallas Museum of Art is located three blocks away. I sooooo want to go~ I've recently been on a big museum/zoo/aquarium kick and when I know something is nearby I get terribly excited (even more so than I am about A-Kon, haha). I wonder if I can convince my brother to go for a few hours with me. Though I really want to go in October when the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit opens up. I'm crazy about Egyptian art/artifacts/etc.
