"One toot on this whistle will send you to a far away land!"
Since I'm not taking any classes this semester (due to my ANXIETY and because I, oh, slept right through every registration period D:) I've decided to try and get back in touch with that artistic side I've been woefully ignoring. (I sound pretentious!)
And hey, at least the money I'm not using for tuition can go toward paying to get my wisdom teeth removed and a new pair of glasses.
Up first, papercrafts! Okay, so they're not really "artistic", but they are fun to makeas long as I don't get glue all over my fingers. I've had several video game related patterns saved on my hard-drive for some time now, and I finally bought some cardstock the other day to make them.

Found this one on Kotaku, though its originally from 4chan. If anyone wants the zip file, I'd be happy to upload it.
Its a Solid Snake in a box! I wasn't so precise in the folding--which is probably something that would be totally obvious if I didn't say anything--, so he's kinda lop-sided. XD If it weren't for the tape I stuck beneath his left foot he'd be tilted to the side.

So cute and creepy at the same time~. ♥ Both James and the nurse are supposed to be holding pipes (or whatever weapon its meant to be), but the first tiny pipe I attempted to fold ended up a crumpled mess since they're SO FUCKING TINY. So I gave the one I did manage to fold to the nurse since, I don't know, it seemed creepier for the James to not have one. Out of the three, this one was my favorite to make. ♥
(NOTE: If you plan on doing this one, be prepared to do a bit of editing to the background and floor pieces. If you try to assemble it as is, it won't fit together; I had to trim down sides and adjust folds to make mine go together properly. And, as you can see, the background piece is still slightly longer than the floor! Grrr.. I should have compared the length of it to the floor piece before gluing it together.)
I don't really know if its noticeable or not, but my folding skills did get better as I progressed: first papercraft (Snake), kinda crappily made; second papercraft (Portal), getting better; third papercraft (Silent Hill 2), WHOA DID I GET NEW HANDS. It was so much easier making that one than the others. Also, it feels sturdier; the Snake one, as I mentioned, can barely stand on its own, and the Portal one...I used too much glue, so the cardstock is waving.
Tomorrow: My first (very simple) attempts at cross-stitching!

Persona 3 progress: 9/18, 64 hours.
This game has managed to hit three of my weak spots: precocious kids (Ken), heroic dogs (Koromaru), and robot girls (Aigis). Seriously, if it gets any better than this I'm gonna explode in happiness.

Various video game crafts: Chain Chomp Hat (also includes instructions for knitting your own), Super Mario Softie and Brooch Set (I admit to SQUEEING over this when I first saw it), and Mario quilt.
Pacman Cupcakes - Very cute.
Sign Language Matchbooks - This person has used matchbooks found on the street to create the sign language alphabet out of the matches. How creative!
Game Design Essentials: 20 Mysterious Games - Too lazy at the moment to summarize this, but anyone interested in old school games would probably enjoy reading through it.
Dueling Analogs has been fairly hit or miss for a while now, but the latest MGS4 strip (aptly titled "Draining the Snake") is hilarious.

My top two are megane boys! ♥
Plus, there's also a Death Note Character Ranking meme and a Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Character meme.
EDIT. Rereading over this post, it appears I haveabused my use of overused the colon key. XD Too much, Kathy, too much.
