Just so you know, if I ever go for, like, a week or longer without updating here, its probably because tumblr has stolen my attention and this is basically me on any given day:

Click for full view.

Ah, obsession. Most of my hyper, random moments of fangirling over kpop or whatever tends to go there since I don't feel as bad spamming there than I do here. Man, I spam to my heart's content.

Anyway, Links!

× Cross-stitch patterns for Super Mario Bros. 3 Worlds 1-8. Ah, summer projects ahoy! (Although I should really finish that Okami one I stopped working on more than a year ago. Note: The free program KG Chart is needed to view the STH file patterns, although PDF files have also been uploaded.

× Found via [personal profile] mklutz: Gray whales have been thought to be extinct for centuries now, but one was spotted in the Mediterranean. Incredible! Also, A Leopard and Golden Retriever are unlikely BFFs. Stories like this just warm my heart.

× I want these LocoRoco plushies. The only way these could be any more awesome is if they could sing.

× Tetris is everywhere. No one can escape those blocks.

× Crocheted Megaman helmet might make a pretty sweet winter cap. If you're not embarrassed wearing a Megaman helmet in public, that is.

× Most accurate Cloud Strife cosplay ever takes me back to 1997. I'm surprised no one thought to cosplay as super-deformed!Cloud before.

× There are two versions of RPG Nier because Westerners find it ridiculous for a slender hero to carry around a humongous sword? They should have just released a single version with the option to choose either version of the character.

× The Absurdity of Video Game Speech is an interesting read.

× I found this really neat on tumblr, so I though some of you might as well: The Other Sky Project. Basically this project asks anyone interested to take a photo of the sky at 5PM on May 23rd so that a collage of everyone's photo can be made. I'm hoping the sky here isn't all plain when it turns 5 on Sunday.

After this Wednesday I will officially be on holiday break. \o/ Look out back-log of video games, here I come!

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago my mom gave me birthday money to use toward online wish-lists of mine, and my packages are slowly coming in. Yay!

Photobucket

This package had: You're Beautiful OST 1 and 2 (♥), and ...Kangta and Vanness' Scandal (CD+DVD edition). I KNOW I KNOW DON'T JUDGE ME ON THAT LAST ONE. Scandal has such lulzy lyrics, I know, but its my guilty pleasure song! Oh god, such a guilty pleasure. Really, there's no defending Scandal; its just so very WTF-worthy.

The pig-rabbit my brother ordered for me will probably come in soon, and when it does I will be like this:

Random pictures! Four of 'em. )

× Video: Sailor Moon Transformation, how to make yourself into Sailor Moon with hair (well, a wig) and make-up tips. (Found via [personal profile] mklutz)

× Hello Kitty nail art is cute.

× Awesome Super Mario World 3 cross-stitch in an equally awesome frame. This makes me want to start cross-stitching again. [stares at Okami project]

× Santa, NO! is very WTF.

× On the other hand, Space Invaders gift wrap is really neat. Another cool holiday related item: Video game controller tree ornaments.

× Why Pac-man will never join Twitter.

× Very cute Vocaloid/Space Channel 5 fanart

× This anon is just like meeee. Nothing's greater than teaching your Animal Crossing neighbors obscene catchphrases and sending them dirty letters.

× Found on Poketo blog:
× Video Mario Theme Played with RC Car and Bottles.

My plans for Halloween are to watch Old Boy and Audition, and to ignore the doorbell if anyone rings it. Sorry, kids, your candy is in another castle.

Good thing this neighborhood is full of nothing but elementary school kids or else I might have my house egged or something. Anyway!

Happy Halloween!!

× PART TWO of [personal profile] hiimdaisy's totally awesome Persona 4 comic. My favorite part is when Dojima gives Souji the bathing suit. Loling forever. READ IT READ IT READ IT.

× Nintendo Rubik's Cube. If only this was an actual Nintendo product! I'd so buy it.

× My brother and I have been playing Twilight Princess (well, I pretty much just sit back and offer any hints/advice when he needs it) and once he got the Zora armor I started wondering if anyone had cosplayed it before. And it looks like somebody has--and quite awesomely, at that. Where can I find more of this?!

× Fashion editorial styled by Tim Burton. The Edward Scissorhands one is really cool, as is the bunny girl one. So creepy, so interesting.

× Oh Jon Gosselin, your Halloween costume shows what a true douche-bag you are.

× Very cool Super Mario diorama entitled Mario Propaganda.

× One of my favorite street fashion shots from Tokyo Fashion. This girl is like a (slightly creepy) porcelain doll! I'm in love with her tiered lace skirt and her Halloween-themed painted nails.

× Awesome Sailor Moon avatars cross-stitch pattern. Must remember to d/l a pattern reader so I can get started on stitching this!

× Fanfic: Sena Is Not A Girl (ES21). Oh god, I love this fic. Its just so crack-y. Ahhhhhh. The summary pretty much tells you all you need to know about it: "Sena is a boy. And he's straight. Totally." Oh Sena, you are a guy magnet. XD

A look at the Final Fantasy IV in-game bestiary revealed that in my quest for getting Yellow Jellies to drop a Rainbow Pudding for me I fought 340 of them. 340. So many. D: Luckily they came in packs of four, so it was just 85 battles, but still. Gah, I'm glad that side-quest is over with.

The monster with the second highest slay count by me is Leshies at 37. By comparison, the Yellow Jelly count is insane.

× I can't believe I failed to mention this here since I've previously established how much anything related to 1UP/EGM/Sore Thumbs makes me spew out in happiness, but Bitmob made its debut a couple of weeks ago. A description of what Bitmob is:

We’re a bit "off the grid" here at Bitmob. Plenty of other sites do a great job of delivering the same news, previews, and reviews you’ve been used to for years. We’re here to do something a little different...to offer an alternative. Instead of covering games the way we’re supposed to, we’ll cover them the way we want to. That means finding new angles on traditional stories, having conversations surrounding a game well after it’s released, looking more behind the scenes, and exploring gaming culture in interesting new ways.
-From About Us

Not only is the Bitmob staff allowed to make posts, but also registered users. Everything that passes their submission guidelines goes into their catchall page, the Mobfeed. These are some I found interesting:

× Jab Strong Fierce is a Street Fighter inspired art show that just ended its run at the Nucleas Gallery in Alhambra, California. The link shows just 15 pieces from the show and they're all quite good. I particularly like Pre-Fight, The Red Cyclone, the untitled Dhalsim piece, and the two by Christian Ward. ...Though, I could have done without so many Chun-Li up-the-skirt paintings. XD

× A bunch of interesting flickr sets:
× A couple of interesting cross-stitch patterns from the Sprite Stitch forums that grabbed my attention: Chibi Sailor Uranus | 4 individual Yoshi patterns with baby versions of Mario, Luigi, Bowzer, and Donkey Kong

× From [livejournal.com profile] lifemetercomics: True Love Brawls, an awesome Super Smash Bros. comic involving Link and Kirby fighting over Zelda. Seriously, if you only check out one thing from this post, this comic should be it. Go check it out!

× Cross-stitch patterns:
× Independent Lens is a weekly series of documentaries and dramas airing on PBS that I've recently started watching regularly. I used to only catch it every once in a while since I'm kind of terrible about remembering when stuff airs on PBS, but I really enjoyed Lakshmi and Me, a documentary that takes a look at the Indian caste system by showing the relationship between a maid and her employer, so I'm trying to keep my Tuesday night viewing schedule open for this series. Upcoming episode I want to see: Stranded: The Andes Plane Crash Survivors (May 19)

× Once again, Japan gets an awesome limited edition DS(i) design: Gyakuten Kenji DSi. Its the Blue Badger!

× Game Over, a flickr set of sewn, vinyl game cartridges based on old Activision games.

× The Periodic Table of Controllers

× These Gameboy plushies are so cute! I'd love to have a bunch of these sitting on my bed. The price isn't so cute though, I'd probably try to make my own before coughing up $35 per plush.
