ghostdrive: ([the house of phantomhive] Sebastian)
My plans for Halloween are to watch Old Boy and Audition, and to ignore the doorbell if anyone rings it. Sorry, kids, your candy is in another castle.

Good thing this neighborhood is full of nothing but elementary school kids or else I might have my house egged or something. Anyway!

Happy Halloween!!

× PART TWO of [personal profile] hiimdaisy's totally awesome Persona 4 comic. My favorite part is when Dojima gives Souji the bathing suit. Loling forever. READ IT READ IT READ IT.

× Nintendo Rubik's Cube. If only this was an actual Nintendo product! I'd so buy it.

× My brother and I have been playing Twilight Princess (well, I pretty much just sit back and offer any hints/advice when he needs it) and once he got the Zora armor I started wondering if anyone had cosplayed it before. And it looks like somebody has--and quite awesomely, at that. Where can I find more of this?!

× Fashion editorial styled by Tim Burton. The Edward Scissorhands one is really cool, as is the bunny girl one. So creepy, so interesting.

× Oh Jon Gosselin, your Halloween costume shows what a true douche-bag you are.

× Very cool Super Mario diorama entitled Mario Propaganda.

× One of my favorite street fashion shots from Tokyo Fashion. This girl is like a (slightly creepy) porcelain doll! I'm in love with her tiered lace skirt and her Halloween-themed painted nails.

× Awesome Sailor Moon avatars cross-stitch pattern. Must remember to d/l a pattern reader so I can get started on stitching this!

× Fanfic: Sena Is Not A Girl (ES21). Oh god, I love this fic. Its just so crack-y. Ahhhhhh. The summary pretty much tells you all you need to know about it: "Sena is a boy. And he's straight. Totally." Oh Sena, you are a guy magnet. XD

Hadaka is quickly becoming one of my favorite Eyeshield 21 fanfic authors out there, 1.) because this person actually writes Agon/Sena fic, which is a rare pairing, OMG and 2.) to me this author has a really good grasp of ES21 characters and writes them well. Her Hiruma is devious and manipulative, Sena is timid yet capable of surprising you, Agon is a bully who can be douche-y to the extreme, etc. I'm so obsessed with hadaka's writing right now that I really can't stop myself from repeatedly F5-ing her author page for updates each night. Ahhh, I'm lame.

I might as well admit right now that it was through one of hadaka's fanfic that I discovered Takahashi Hiroshi's shonen manga Worst, which I briefly mentioned being in love with yesterday. I randomly decided to check out Yarichin, her ES21/Worst crossover fic, despite knowing absolutely nothing about Worst, and it is just so funny and kinda insane. The character of Hanaki Guriko quickly grabbed my attention and I decided that it would probably be in my best interest to read the manga. And as I've already mentioned: I love it, I love it.

Anyway, hadaka is awesome, Worst is awesome. If you enjoy Eyeshield 21 you should definitely read her fic.

And now, Links!

× Photos of kids cosplaying as video game characters. I'm not particularly fond of children, but the ones dressed as Mario and Luigi look very cute.

× Semi-related to the above: Know someone having a baby? How about knitting them this Baby Link Outfit! Check it out, the quiver can hold a baby bottle! Pretty awesome.

× Art created out of Rubik's Cubes

× 30+ pieces of Legend of Zelda illustrations, some of which look really cool. This one is, by far, my favorite.

× Sega says Ryū ga Gotoku 3 isn't worth localizing for a stateside release. Whyyyyy. I love the Yakuza series and would love to see Yakuza 3 released in the US. I'd buy it, Sega!

× Apparently at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo you can see the preserved bodies of Hachiko, Japan's most famous dog, and other notable canines. This is morbidly fascinating.

× From Sprite Stitch: Chainmail Yoshi inlay | Beaded Earrings of video game sprites

× This Pikmin chalk art is really awesome looking.

× Photorgraphs by Patrick Runte of old school video games--like Pac-Man and Pong--come to life.

× Servbot pudding! Servbots are adorable, but I wonder how this pudding tastes?

Last week or the week before that I recced some Eyeshield fics to [livejournal.com profile] sutlers, so I thought I'd dump the links for those ones here, plus more since I actually had a ton of stuff bookmarked. I'm still going through them all, too. I should be working on my essay, but instead I'm rereading fic. NO SENSE OF PRIORITIES FOR ME. D:

Some links! )

I'll probably add more to this list as I continue to go through my bookmarks.

But before that:

Happy Halloween!!

And now. . . Spoilers. Spoilers. Spoilers. )
ghostdrive: ([snaaaake!] Solid Snake)
But first, the reason why I haven't felt like posting lately. )

Enough of that emo(-ish) shit, since, unlike the past week, I FEEL LIKE TALKING NOW. And it shall be in list form since I'm too lazy to weave everything together into coherent, transitional paragraphs.

1.) I made the mistake of showing my brother this cross-stitch of the World 1 map from Super Mario Bros 3 and his response was to say, "So when are you making that?" XD Have you forgotten that I'm still stitching this Smash Bros. pattern for you? Stop giving me new projects! I still need to get back on track with my Super Secret Project that I haven't touched since March. At this rate I'll die before its finished. D: Randomly, if you check out the SMB3 stitcher's flickr page, you can see that one of her other craft projects is of knitted poo. KNITTED. POO. It's pretty awesome. XD

2.) I went to Waldenbooks to see if they had any trade paperbacks of Hellboy or Fables (particularly volume 8 since possible spoilery comment )) but found that, similar to their manga section, the selection of titles available there is dwindling down. Disappointing~. They mainly carry Marvel and DC stuff, which isn't surprising, with the very few titles by other companies hidden amongst the disorder. If only they would organize that section better. [shakes fist]

But! I was just browsing through Amazon and found the The Hellboy Collection, which has the first seven volumes, and now I'm sitting here debating with myself whether to buy it or not. EDIT. As I was pondering on this I instead ordered three games: Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Siren, and Grim Grimoire. Oh ho ho, my buying moods change so quickly.

3.) Since the rest of Battlestar Galactica isn't going to air until 2009 (which makes me irritated at the writers' strike since the latest episode, Revelations, ended on such a cliffhanger; OH GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO EARTH), I've taken up watching Dr. Who. I honestly know almost nothing about the Dr. Who universe (besides random stuff about the Tenth Doctor, the only companion I've seen him with, Donna Noble, and little bits the I've learned from the few episodes I've seen), so I sort of watch each episode with this look of awe on my face. His sonic screwdriver is a most curious thing, I tell ya.

4. I finally downloaded the latest PSP system software update so I could play Crisis Core and quite possibly cry over the fate of Zack, but instead I've gotten hooked to Patapon. Its so addicting; I find myself chanting along with my little walking-talking eyeball army and diligently going on hunts for food with them even though we have more than enough Kacheek meat already.

Seriously, its my favorite PSP game now.

× Capcom's replacement covers for Okami (Wii) are shipping out. Finally! I'd nearly forgotten all about this.

× Found this via Kotaku: Snake Bakes a Cake, an illustrated Metal Gear Solid mini-book written by [livejournal.com profile] spinooti where Snake...bakes a cake. It is awesome. ♥ Plus, there is Snake ass, and Snake ass is always good. NOTE: Someone has commented that there may be a spoiler to MGS4--though I wouldn't really know since I haven't played the game. So yeah. Just wanted to give a little heads up to those of you who are sensitive to spoilers, no matter how vague they may be.

× Nintendo wall decals. If my walls weren't already blocked by too many bookshelves I'd totally buy the Donkey Kong ones.

× Random fic I like lately: Play Date, a slightly AU Eyeshield 21 fic by F.A. Star Hawk. The premise sounds a bit silly with Sena being set up on play dates (and becoming friends) with children who end up being on rival football teams to his when he enters high school (awkward explanation, lol), but honestly, I can't get enough of it! I find the friendships Sena enters very cute (particularly the strange mother hen one with Agon) and its pretty much a fic that puts me in a good mood.
