WELL, I'VE BEEN PRETTY BAD AT KEEPING UP WITH THIS MEDIALOG THING. Trying to get back on track, so here's an incredibly incomplete log of media consumed November 2011 thru today's date 2012/3/13:

1.) You never get too old to be experience secondhand embarrassment via a parent. My mom and her boyfriend kept on jokingly threatening to take a nap in the numerous chairs and beds there. And I was all NOOOOOOOOO since my mom falls asleep super fast and is a LOUD snorer and omg all the people there!

Then later on at the kitchen section Mom's Boyfriend stood at the oven in one display and Mom at another across the aisle and were all "HEY WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR BREAKFAST?" "PORK CHOPS!" "OKAY LET'S MAKE PORK CHOPS!" and wouldn't stfu about pork chops. omg I don't know you loud people, let me jam myself into one of these kitchen cabinets please.

As [personal profile] nijibug would say: Oh mom |D

2.) Like 5 or so years ago I bought two of Ikea's Expedit shelving units; one that has 20 cubby holes, and another that has 25. I'd grown increasingly unsatisfied with them since they are fairly ineffective at holding my book collection. They look nice here, but now that I have much more books the width of the cubby holes is a pain when it comes to book organization. But! The Ikea trip and seeing how they used the Expedit shelves in their room displays really helped me like them again. I had planned on keeping the smaller one and getting rid of the bigger one, but now I'm keeping both and buying inserts that allow the cubbies to have doors or turn into drawers.

I'm not very good with typing up posts regarding real life when its not nail polish swatches or fashion shots, but I think most of you are aware my family is getting set to move into a new house. "New House" is what I refer to it on tumblr/twitter whenever I make any vague reference to it.

Anyway, the whole decorating process has been super slow, but today we took a trip to an Ikea in Houston so that I could pick up this bookcase I really liked, and also check out other possible purchases.

My plan was to take my camera to take pics of furniture that caught my eye that I could later make a final choice over whether it was right for New House or not. But pffffft, that quickly flew out the window when I became dazzled by the amazingness of Ikea's room displays. THEY GIVE ME TOO MANY IDEAS. So that's what I ended up taking pics of instead.

And then I didn't take too many shots since I was too busy flitting around and oooh-ing over EVERYTHING. )

Now as for what I got:

This really cool pendant lamp! More! )

I'm running on very little sleep, so please excuse any incoherency lol
