Who Is America's Next Top Model, Really? -- This article sort of says that the girls who win on Top Model won't all succeed in the business since American girls aren't the "hot look" at the moment. Sucky.
Nintendo Paper Crafts -- I want to make the Bunny-suit!Mario one for my brother. ^_^ Check it out
cobra_bruce! They have Ness there too.
i am 8-bit -- This is a currently running exhibit in L.A. devoted to pre-1995 video game (i.e. Space Invaders, Burger Time, Metal Gear, Pac-Man, etc.) inspired artwork. Super, super cool. Go check out the gallery at the site. I suck at summarizing! But seriously, check out the site if you're a video game fanatic like me. ^_^

Surprisingly enough, it was actually watchable this year. I didn't have to change the channel every ten or so minutes because the lameness was killing me. Only a couple of things were cringe worthy (such as Kiefer Sutherland's promotion of the 24 game. Ugh, he sounded like he was trying soooo hard to be cool. ^^; Poor Kiefer) ,so that was a major plus.
I don't know why, but the names of some of the awards just bug me. "Best Performance by a Human Female/Male" (that's two separate categories btw)? "Cybervixen of the Year"? The former makes me think there's going to be a "Best Non-human performance" for some reason. XP Also, it sort of bothers me that only big name stars are nominees. Well...some aren't really big names, but they are movie stars none the less. I kind of wish they would include more notable voice actors and not just stars. I'm sure Charlize Theron and 50 Cent bring in the viewers, but they certainly don't represent what a good video game performance is. As for the latter award, "Cybervixen" just makes me think of porn stars. XDDDD
Samuel L. Jackson was a great host. He just so bad ass. All his bits were funny and never felt forced. He's quite charismatic. My only complaint is that he referred to Link as a "dwarf". Haha, I'm dorky and thought "What? A dward? You be speaking blasphemy Samuel L." (<---- I don't really speak that way. XDDD)
Resident Evil 4 won "Game of the Year", which I loved. Shinji Mikami is so cute! ♥ Though I do think his translator was a bit nervous onstage and didn't translate what he said completely.
Other randomness:
--Doris Roberts on the VGAs? WTF?!
--Flea is insane. He kicked his shoes out into the audience. Actually, he punted, more than kicked his shoes out. Everyone cheered, haha.
--Every time the camera panned over to Snoop he had this expression on his face as if to say "Why am I here?" I cracked up big time. XD
--Def Leppard may not be able to hit those high notes anymore, but they still kick ass.
--Dane Cook's tribute to Pac-Man was the funniest thing EVER. ("See? I can even move the controller with my butt.")

(Okay, I haven't been keeping up with video game news lately, so bear with me if you've read any of the following already. I've been attempting to catch up with my brother's issues of EGM since I usually just read Playstation related magazines. Aug-Oct. issues done, Nov-Jan. still to go!)
In the September issue of EGM they did an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto (I think the article was entitled "Why is Shigeru Miyamoto so damn happy?"), and this portion of it was just hilarious:
EGM: What about this: If you could only save one of your babies from a burning building--Mario, Link, or Donkey Kong--who would you save?
Shigeru Miyamoto: [Thinks for a moment] Well, if I saved Link, I'm sure the other two could get out on their own. [Laughs]
EGM: And Link couldn't?
SM: He's too cute. [I'd need to help him.]
XDDDDDD I ♥ Shigeru Miyamoto.
Quotes that made me laugh:
--"Not much is going on in the touch screen department, but who has the time to mess with that when you've got a red turtle shell homing in on your ass." {on Mario Kart DS}
--"We haven't had a chance to test-drive the new controller, but at least we know it'll always return if we chuck it in anger." {on the PS3 controller}
--Sean Baby's entire "Nerd Manual: Classifying Homo Sapiens Dorkitus" article. I adore Sean Baby. His humor is just so sarcastic and humorous that I just look forward to reading him in every issue of EGM (this was in the September issue btw, if you want to read it).
Can you believe there's a 7-year old pro gamer? AMAZING!
Weirdest event of the day: My brother and I were wandering through the video game aisle of K-Mart when suddenly we walked into it. "It" being that natural phenomenon known as...The Lingering Fart Cloud. You know, that fart so thick it takes FOREVER to dissipate. XDDD Man, it just cleared up my sinuses; it was that bad. It was both disgusting and hilarious and I could not stop laughing (I needed some fresh air I think XP). Needless to say, we didn't stay long in the video game aisle.
Movies I want to see: Memoirs of a Geisha, Brokeback Mountain, and one other movie that I can't remember the name of. ^^;
