kokemaru, kokemaru

There's been a new addition to my household recently, and it is marimo. 5 of them!

Look, they're smiling! Anyway, marimo are just moss balls so my love for them is probably over the top, but I honestly think they are really cute. [profile] lysanderpuck/Massiel helped me decide on naming them after the Japanese group Arashi. Which was perfect since I love Arashi, and their 5 members equals the amount of marimo I have. Clockwise from the one at 12 o'clock in the above pic they are: Aiba, Sho, Ohno, Jun, and Nino. Biggest marimo for tallest Arashi member; smallest marimo for shortest member.

More pics and babbling. HELP I'M MARIMO OBSESSED. )

Haven't done one this type of post in a while.

If you follow me on tumblr, you've probably already seen this pic today~ )

The waist of this skirt is actually too big me, so its pinned in the back with paper clips (with the paper clips hidden by a sash in the back). Yeah, so ghetto, I know. I'll get around to fixing it properly with a needle and thread eventually.

I enjoy this time of year since I get to bust out my very colorful tight collection! South Texas is generally hot most of the year, so tights, even thin ones, aren't practical to wear everyday even though I'd like to. Sadness.

I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Kyle Hyde, especially since Hotel Dusk is one of my favorite DS games.

I've been playing a ton of Persona 3: Portable, as the female MC. Its rather nice to be able to choose the gender of the main character. I think I'll ramble on about it for a little bit. Spoilers! Particularly for October full moon. )

× To any Suju fans on my flist/dwcircle: Zhou Mi and Henry support project. Summary of the project from the original post:
It’s based off the idea of 1000 [origami] cranes, excepted modified a bit to be 1000 koalas, and 1000 hamsters. 1000 cranes symbolizes peace and happiness and love, and in some cultures, is supposed to grant a wish. So with Zhou Mi’s throat problems, and SJM’s comeback, the two boys are going to need all the happiness and love they can get.

I'm a lazy bum, so ModCloth is pretty much the only online shop I regularly check right now.

Spotted Make Your Own Clothes on ModCloth, like, two weeks ago and snapped it up despite having no idea how to work my sewing machine.

I love that it includes pattern maker software that lets you use your own measurements, although I have yet to install it into my laptop since it is an old lady and I've been thinking about purchasing a new one. (Hopefully Ms. Laptop won't take offense at that comment and start acting up on me. XD) The book also includes basic info on fabric choices and hand-sewing techniques, which are helpful.

As for the patterns themselves, there are a few I have absolutely no interest in (like the drawstring shorts and child's dress lol), but overall I like them. The sleeveless dress, flared skirt, vest and tulip skirt patterns have caught my eye in particular.

Other clothing and items from ModCloth that have grabbed my attention recently. )
