“Someone once told me that if you look for something with an earnest heart, you’ll find it.”

I'm not exactly a morning person, so I'm generally a little tired when I go to my 8AM Tuesday/Thursday Bio class. But today I was super tired for some reason. So tired that I kept on closing my eyes when the professor's back was turned. Which was totally a bad idea since those stealth micro-naps made my brain go 'Sleep time? OKAY' and my head lolled sharply to the right at one point and I felt as if I was going to fall out of my desk and onto the floor. And I'm fairly sure I would have had I not forced my eyes to stay open for the rest of the class. Would have been very embarrassing, I tell ya.

Anyway, my apologies to Punnet Squares. I would have found you interesting had I not been like the walking dead.

You defeated me before, but not this time.

Apparently my body has decided that Spring Break is the perfect time to catch up on all the sleep I've lost this semester. Come on, body! I have games to play! An research paper/essay that I will most likely procrastinate on to write! A bathroom to clean! I hate cleaning my bathroom! I can't be feeling tired all the time.

So, yeah, I'm pretty dead right now. But before I melt into a tired heap on the floor, I thought I'd share this link that made go WTF:

According to the the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force, if you're over 18 and playing Animal Crossing, then you must be a sexual predator. Seriously, WTF. Oh how the misinformed make me want to strangle someone. Especially when it comes to Animal Crossing, one of my favorite things on the planet.

When you wish upon a star, sometimes it gives you presents.

I've been playing Animal Crossing: Wild World for about three years now and yesterday was the first time I successfully wished on a star. When I checked my mailbox this morning I found that the star had sent me a nice letter:

Dear Sena,

What did you wish for when you saw the star? No, that's OK. . . I already know. It is granted. ☆

From Wishy the Star

Lolololol. The star also sent me a nice gift of . . . a green pantry, because that is what I apparently wished for. XD A cheap present, but its still better than the shanty wallpaper my neighbors try to bum off on me.

Just a heads-up to any Wii owners on the flist: eight Wii games will be featured on Amazon.com's Gold Box tomorrow (the 9th) at a special discounted price, with seven of them being available for only a limited time. (Check here for more details.)

I mentioned to my brother that the first limited-time deal would be at 6 AM and he responded with, "You do know you're gonna have to wake up to check which one it is for me, right?" Nooooooo. But because I'm a good sister (and since I'm the one with an Amazon account) I'll probably end up checking what games are available throughout the day for him anyway.

Appearing every Saturday at The Roost // See him backstage for bootlegs

Took a short break from Super Secret Project #1 and Super Secret Project #2 to stitch one of my favorite Animal Crossing visitors, K.K. Slider!

Photobucket

A special stitching done for my brother, who finally seems to be recovering well from his infection, since he's basically K.K. Slider come to life (minus the mad guitar skills and bohemian swagger). They're eyebrow brothers separated at birth, I tell ya. I'd post a picture of him to compare the two, but he'd sooooooo kill me.

(Pattern found via the Sprite Stitch Board: here.)

After completing this one I went right back to Super Secret Project #2 -- which won't be so Super Secret soon since I'm nearly done with the outline and plan on sharing photos of it in its in-progress state. Here's a hint for the subject of SSP#2 if you want to try and guess what series it'll be from: Earth! Air! Fire! Water! And no, its not Captain Planet. XD

Crappy video game review time: Indigo Prophecy edition.

In case you'd rather skip my most likely rambling review, here's the short of it: Indigo Prophecy is a supernatural thriller that goes from great to good by the time all is said and done. Play it for its unique game play, just don't expect the ending to leave you completely satisfied.

Are you ready for a lame review?
My name is Lucas Kane, and I am a murderer.

Indigo Prophecy begins in the men's restroom of a New York City diner where you, as Lucas Kane, suddenly and brutally murder a complete stranger in what appears to be a possessed trance. Fleeing the scene in confusion you now have to uncover the truth as to what really happened, who's behind it, and what these strange visions you've been burdened with mean.

It turns out this isn't the first time a murder like this has happened. This ritualistic pattern of ordinary people killing strangers has stunned the city for some time now. As you delve deeper into it, who knows why sort of dark forces lie in wait. My summaries are laaaaaame~

[Pros]
+Not only does Indigo Prophecy allow you to play as Lucas, you also get to control the two detectives on the case, Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles, along with a fourth character who shall remain nameless due to their vital role in the story. Being both the hunter and the hunted gives the game a nice twist.

+Interactions with people and items affect both the storyline and the character's mental health meter. For example, eating will add points to your meter, while, say, listening to a cop's message on an answering machine will cause a negative affect. If your meter depletes completely, get ready for your character to do something drastic, like commit suicide.

+The time-based event triggers. Nothing gets your anxiety rolling like trying to figure out how to hide a dead body before a cop walks in.

+Action control sequences (similar to the Quick Time Event sequences in Shenmue) that utilize either the analog sticks or the L1 and R1 buttons. A very engaging feature, but be ready for some feats of finger endurance.

+Relatively short game; I finished it in 6-7 hours. Some people complain about short games, but, considering how many 50+ hour games I have, I can appreciate them.

[Cons]
-Camera sometimes locks into place.

-NEEDS MOAR TYLER. Ahem. Yeah, considering how he's one of the main characters, the decision to leave him out in later portions of the game seems like a waste.

-Storyline gets pretty ridiculous near the end. And by 'pretty' I mean EXTREMELY ridiculous. Alien invasions got nothing on it. )

[Misc.]
!Too bad the interactive sex scene was removed from the North American version of the game. I think it would have been hilarious to play through.

...If you managed to read through all of that, I applaud you.

I have the urge to bake bread! And its all Yakitate!! Japan's fault! Something about that series just makes me want to test out my very amateur bread making skills.

At the end of volume 2 there's a recipe for baking bread in a rice cooker (Ja-Pan number 2), and now I'm tempted to find ours (its probably off gathering dust in the pantry) and give it a whirl. I foresee myself failing and making a brick.

I like taking photos at the cemetery since there are usually sculptures on headstones, or large wooden crosses, or other unique structures that catch my eye. But taking photos on Fathers' Day is a bit awkward, to say the least. ._. It felt weird walking around with my camera while families were there placing flowers on their loved ones graves.

Anyway, actually photos of the sculptures and whatnot will have to wait until I get the film developed (hopefully they turn out better than my last set that I never uploaded here), so here some other ones I took there. Plus, my cats in bowls. THEY ARE CUTE.

I was away from my Animal Crossing town so long one of my neighbors thought I was in jail! XDDDD As you can probably tell, I didn't end up restarting my AC file, but I did spend the last 45 minutes or so cleaning up Okami and talking to the neighbors. I'm amazed at how many weeds I pulled up; there were 326 of them around the town. 326! There were also 35 clover patches, 9 roaches in my home, and 17 flowers remaining (out of about 65 I used to have). ...Yes, I am an obsessive note-taker when it comes to video games sometimes. XD

That Tom Nook is probably pawning off my stuff as we speak.

I haven't played my Animal Crossing: Wild World file in over 3 months, which is really unusual since I used to visit my town (which will now be referred to as "Okami" since that what I named it) every single day. Ah, addiction dedication.

So now Okami is probably full of weeds and trash (there goes my 11 month streak of having my town in perfect condition), my house full of roaches, and my neighbors either absolutely worried about me or angry that I've ignored them (I can feel their accusing eyes boring into my skull). Here's my dilemma: I'm a bit, um, obsessive when it comes to Animal Crossing. Each day I had this routine I'd follow to keep my town as neat and tidy as the last and if something was out of place it was fixed immediately. (Ex. I like to keep flowers in similar groups around Okami, so if a neighbor planted a few tulips around their house after I gave them a garden of roses you can bet I picked those motherfuckers out.) So just thinking about Okami being in a state that I did not leave it in drives me insane. I'M CRAZY.

But at the same time, I've accomplished so much (which will be listed after the cut), so I feel like it would be a waste to just erase my current file. I'M INDECISIVE, HELP ME.

Fossils, bugs, and fish, oh my! I'm in envy over that golden watering can you have there. )

------

I haven't visited my Animal Crossing town in over a month and that makes me sad. I missed the Bright Nights in February! My town is probably full of weeds, my home full of roaches, and my neighbors ticked off that I've been gone so long! Have they moved away?! Tell me they haven't moved away. [in hysterics]

Yes, Animal Crossing is a Serious Thing to me. XD I think I'll probably end up playing with the date on my DS and go back to the time I last played.

Scandal -- Kangta & Vanness

I've been listening to this song almost non-stop since I got it off of a song meme [livejournal.com profile] meitachi posted. IT IS AWESOME. Lyrically its pretty...well, lets just say anytime Asian boys say "Crunk" or "Like 2 Pac, we hit'em up" I'm dying of laughter in the corner. DYING. But I love the high energy hip-pop beat of the song and I love (LOVE~) the vocals. Especially Kangta's since I've been a big fan of him since his days in H.O.T. [is dorky for K-pop boy bands]

  • Watched portions of Howl's Moving Castle over and over again since Howl/Sophie makes me squee, and Calcifer and Markl are cute, cute, cute.
  • And I've ever so slowly been catching up on scanlations of Eyeshield 21. (ANOTHER SERIES I LOVE TO PIECES.) Oh, Sena. ♥ I'm currently up to the Bando Spiders match and, HOLY CRAP, am I excited to see how Sena overcomes Akaba. [dorky flailing]

Speaking of Animal Crossing, I found these bookmarks while cleaning my room the other day. )

In other bug-related news, while me and my brother were trying to kill a roach last night it somehow managed to crawl inside of my pant leg. INSIDE MY PANT LEG. [shudders] Never before have I flailed around so wildly. After flinging that damned roach halfway across the room, I stomped on it, and then flushed it down the toilet. Mwahahaha, it was rather satisfying. X3 Also, when I was outside earlier, a little spider started chasing me. I think the bugs are ganging up on me.

Despite not ever buying an e-Reader, I rather enjoyed collecting the Animal Crossing e-Reader cards for it. I ♥ ANIMAL CROSSING. Sadly, my attempts at gaining a large collection of these cards was thwarted when the one store I knew that had them (K-Mart) stopped stocking them. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I went outside to put some bread out for the raccoons and was momentarily freaked out by the shadow of my cat, Artemis, as she walked around on the top of the garage. Yeah, stupid, I know. But in my defense A.) I don't see well when it gets dark so any of the wild animals around here could jump out at me and I wouldn't notice and B.) its getting all foggy outside so I was having a bit of a Silent Hill moment. When the fog rolls in, I like to walk down the street with my white noise radio pretending I'm Harry/James/Heather/insert other SH character. Har har, its a lot of fun. XDD

Anyway, its New Year's Eve now, and I hope all of you are spending it with friends/family and having fun. Ah, I can hear the fireworks starting now...and its only 6:30. Save some for midnight, buddy! XD As for me, I'll be ringing in the New Year with my Animal Crossing: Wild World buddies in Okami. Why yes, I'm quite the party animal aren't I? XP One of my AC neighbors, Deena, told me that even though she'd known me for only a small part of 2005, that she was happy for our friendship during that period and hoped 2006 was the same. Awwwwww~!

~Resolutions for 2006~
1. Keep up to date with Penny Arcade and Salad Days. I'm amused that this is the first thing I thought of for this list.
2. Gain at least 5 pounds. I need it. ^^;
3. Finish the bajillion video games on my shelves that I've managed to play all the way to the end boss but yet never felt compelled to completely beat.
4. Work on softening my "ice queen" image when meeting new people. I WANT TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS DAMMIT,NOT SCARE THEM AWAY.
5. Comment more on other people's posts, especially the many fic posts I read but never review. Even if its just to ♥ at them, they'd probably appreciate it better than no comments at all.
6. Get to know each and every one of you better.
7. Stop slacking off in college.
8. Drink the Jones Soda Holiday Pack at least once in my lifetime and not die.

Oh man, when I started playing Animal Crossing my brain went blank when I was asked to name my character and town. I like sat there, DS in hand, just going "Umm..Umm..umm" for almost 15 minutes until I went, screw this, and typed in Sena for a name and Okami for the town. Yes, my mind goes into 'random mode' occasionally when put on the spot. My apologies to Eyeshield 21's Koboyakawa Sena, for whom my character is named after, since my Sena is a girl. XD Okami comes from the video game of the same name.

6. The character I would shag anytime.

I have just recently fallen in love with Avatar: The Last Airbender. Why didn't I start watching this show sooner!? It is so awesome. I can not fully express how much I love it without turning into some rambling madwoman. This show causes so much excitement in me that I have to pace around the room during commercial breaks just to get rid of excess energy. Dorky, I know, but I get that way with my favorite shows.

And finally, Nickelodeon has a show that isn't crap. Its line-up these past five years or so has made me miss the Nickelodeon days when I was growing up. ....I sound like an old woman, haha. But seriously, does anyone else remember when Nickelodeon was chock full of incredible/interesting shows? I totally need to make a Nickelodeon nostalgia post soon. XP
